Track: CDEGA Level 4 Delivery: Socratic AI + facilitated practicum Leads to: Financed / Grant-supported Hub placement Progression: KNQA Level 5B / 6B & career pathways
In this cohort, you'll —
  • ✓ Have your business, hustle, or community leadership experience documented and credentialed as prior learning
  • ✓ Complete structured CDEGA Level 4 training in digital-economy pedagogy and community hub operations
  • ✓ Be staged for placement in a Financed or Grant-supported Community Digital Hub equipped for CBC practical learning
  • ✓ Open a documented pathway into KNQA Level 5B/6B and further study or career progression

Kenya's Competency-Based Curriculum asks learners to demonstrate competence, not just recall it. Community Digital Hubs are where that demonstration happens outside the classroom walls — physical, equipped, credentialed spaces, run day to day by entrepreneurs who already understand their own communities better than any outside operator could. CDEGA Level 4 is how that understanding becomes a qualification.

Inside The Hub

One space, four ways it comes alive

The equipment laid out above is fixed. How a hub is used through the week is not. Every Community Digital Hub is configured across four recurring categories of use, depending on who is in the room and what they've come to build.

How It Works

From lived experience to credentialed pathway

Enrollment is the first of five staged points between what you already know how to do and a recognised qualification you can build a career on.

1

Apply & lived-experience review

Submit your application. Your business, hustle, or community-leadership experience is documented as evidence of prior learning.

2

CDEGA Level 4 enrollment

Structured, facilitated training in Socratic AI-delivered digital-economy pedagogy and community hub operations.

3

Credentialing gate

A formal KNQA-aligned assessment combines your training with your documented lived experience into a recognised Level 4 qualification.

4

Hub deployment

Graduates are staged on the deployment roster for a Financed or Grant-supported Community Digital Hub as site funding is confirmed.

5

Progression

The pathway stays open — toward KNQA Level 5A/6A credentials, further study, or a career built on what you've now formally proven.

Before You Apply

Who this is for

You should apply if —

  • ✓You are aged 18–35 and live in or near the community where a hub could operate
  • ✓You run, or have run, a small business, mtaa enterprise, youth group, or community initiative — formal or informal
  • ✓You have basic digital literacy — comfortable using a smartphone is enough
  • ✓You're willing to complete structured CDEGA Level 4 training and, later, to operate a hub under GCT's community governance model
  • ✓You have — or can get — an endorsement from a local school, chief's office, CBO, or existing GCT partner site (this strengthens your application but is not required)

What you'll need on hand

  • →A copy of your National ID
  • →A short written or recorded account of your business or community experience
  • →Your current contact details — phone number is enough; email if you have one
  • →A reference contact, if available (community leader, teacher, or CBO official)

No prior formal ICT qualification is required. Applicants with existing certificates or diplomas are welcome — prior qualifications simply support the lived-experience review at Stage 1.

What You Gain

More than a certificate

RECOGNITION

A credential built on what you already do

A KNQA-aligned Level 4 qualification that formally recognises training alongside real, lived business and community experience.

PLACEMENT

Graduates are placed on GCT's deployment roster for Financed or Grant-supported Community Digital Hub placement as site funding is confirmed.

MENTORSHIP

A standing support network

Access to GCT's TrainerZuri continuous professional development track and a mentorship network of Instructions Architects and Engineers.

PROGRESSION

A pathway that doesn't stop at Level 4

A documented route into KNQA Level 5A/6A credentials and further study or career progression, inside a national co-build ecosystem now in active dialogue with KICD and connectivity and financial partners.

Good To Know

Frequently asked questions

Is there a fee to apply or enroll? +
There is no cost to submit an application. Any training or induction costs for accepted candidates will be communicated clearly before enrollment begins — Growth Circles is actively securing grant and financing partners specifically to subsidise these costs.
Do I need a registered business to apply? +
No. Informal enterprises, youth groups, and community-led initiatives all count as lived experience. What matters is that you can describe what you do and how long you've been doing it.
Am I guaranteed a Community Digital Hub after training? +
Not automatically. Enrollment and credentialing prepare you to operate a hub. Actual hub placement is staged against confirmed financing or grant funding at a given site, and graduates are placed on the deployment roster in that order.
What happens after I submit my application? +
Your submission enters Stage 1 — lived-experience review. A member of the Growth Circles team will contact you on the phone number provided to confirm details and outline next steps toward CDEGA Level 4 enrollment.
Can I apply if I already hold a certificate, diploma, or degree? +
Yes. This pathway is open regardless of formal education level. Existing qualifications simply add supporting evidence to your lived-experience review — they don't disqualify you.
